Dune Vegetation Planting for Coastal Rehabilitation

The most common cause of coastal erosion is the destruction of natural and highly
specialized salt-tolerant pioneer beach/dune–building plants. Fortunately, rehabilitation of these
plant species has proven to be straightforward and relatively inexpensive. The rehabilitation
process utilize sound, ecological restoration principles and additionally work towards improving
community understanding of the importance of these coastal margins in mitigating the impacts of
climate change.
