EU-GIZ ACSE Freshwater Aquaculture Launching
EU-GIZ Adapting to Climate Change and Suatainable Energy (ACSE) programme on Freshwater Aquaculture was launched on the 17th of October 2016.
The objective of the project is to:
1) Trial and test economically and environmentally sustainable small-scale, community-based aquaculture models, integrating successes into a robust national aquaculture governance system; and,
2) Upgrade the infrastructure of Tagabe Freshwater Aquaculture Centre including improving skills of its technicians and enching overall planning and management of the facility.
Project Outcomes:
1) Environmentally sustainable small-scale, community-based aquaculture models are tested; and,
2) A functional national aquaculture facility and development of 3 community-based and semi-commercial aquaculture farms in a systematic way and other tilapia farms in Efate.
