1.The pacific community (spc) is pleased to inform the Gorvernment of member states and Territories of a Regional Meeting for the Heads Of Maritime and Energy from the pacific region which will be hosted by the Government of Vanuatu in collaboration with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in Port Vila Vanuatu from 7-14 December.
2.The meeting will be devided into 3 main events:
a. A 3-day workshop for maritime and energy officials from 7-9 Decemberfor the preperation of the Third Pacific Regional Transport and energy Minister's meeting
The sole purpose of this meeting is to bring at the same table all the key players during a cyclone emergency and review the roles and responsibilities each targeted organisation has to perform if a cyclone happened to strike Vanuatu in the near future.

As you are aware, the Ministries of Trade and Agriculture together with the private sector are planning an exciting and major 3-day end of year event from 9th to 11th November (starting in exactly 10 days’ time!). Planning process is well underway.
The Ministry of Climate through DEPC and IUCN will be conducting the GEF6 national stakeholder consultation from 07 – 11 November in Port Villa. This will include meeting with relevant government departments and ministries, NGOs, private sectors, civil society groups and individuals through focus group meeting, workshop and interviews with individuals. The objectives of the consultations are:
