Vanuatu Gender and Agriculture Findings and Conclusions Consultation

The Pacific Community (SPC), and the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation are running a consultation on the preliminary findings of the Vanuatu gender and agriculture assessment to seek feedback and views from key stakeholders in government, civil society and the private sector working in agriculture and rural development.

The aim of the consultation workshop is to validate the findings of the key respondent interviews, community based research and consultations regarding the key gender issues in the agriculture sector and effective strategies to be used for increasing the participation and empowerment of women in agriculture and rural development. This information will assist to finalise the SPC/FAO Country Gender Assessment of the Agriculture and Rural Development Sector in Vanuatu. The consultation will be facilitated by CARE International in Vanuatu.
