The National Climate Outlook Forum Traditional Knowledge & Vanuatu Rainfall Network

The  National Climate Outlook Forum Traditional Knowledge and Vanuatu Rainfall & Network

Background
Traditional Knowledge have informed Vanuatu communities response to climate variability and extreme weather events for many decades. Traditional knowledge is an important component of Vanuatu communities’ adaptive capacities. The abilities of individuals, households and entire communities to plan for and act to address climate extremes and environmental changes in rural Vanuatu is often dependent on their local environmental knowledge and implementation of natural resource management and disaster risk reduction strategies.

Vanuatu National Climate Outlook Forum (NCOF) for 2021 will focus on Weather, Climate Variability and Change and Traditional Knowledge. The proposed theme for this year’s NCOF is:
“Traditional Knowledge of Weather, Climate and Ocean, is essential to Community Resilience"

“HEMI IMPOTEN BLO YUSUM LOKOL SAVE BLO WETA, KLAEMET MO SOLWOTA, BLO PRIPEREM YU MO KOMUNITI BLO YU”

VMGD and Van-KIRAP Project are inviting you to the 2021 National Climate Outlook Forum.

This zoom link will be used for the 3 days of the NCOF from Wed 27/10 to Friday 29/10.
