DFAT/GIZ/USAID/SPC ISACC and CFRP Joint Consultation

Re: Invitation for the Climate Finance Stakeholder Consultation

We write to inform you that a joint SPC/GIZ team from Fiji will be visiting Vanuatu from 20th – 24th March 2017, and would like to invite you to a stakeholder consultation at the Vanuatu Meteorology and Geo-Hazards Department conference room on Friday 24th March 2017 from 8.30am to 2.00pm.

The team consists of the following persons: Ms Hanna Sabass (Germany) – Portfolio Manager, GIZ; Mr Ledua Vakaloloma (Fiji) – Climate Change Finance Officer, GIZ; and Ms Vuki Buadromo (Fiji) – Project Manager, SPC.

The objective of the joint mission is to consult with relevant stakeholders on the activities to be supported by the two regional projects which are the USAID/SPC Institutional Strengthening in Pacific Island countries to adapt to Climate Change (ISACC) and the DFAT/GIZ Climate Finance Readiness for the Pacific (CFRP). With this, we would like to support elements of the Vanuatu Zero Draft Climate Finance Roadmap, developed in December 2016 during the Climate Finance forum.

We hope that the half-day consultation will provide an opportunity for relevant stakeholders to discuss and clarify with the joint team on the immediate needs and details of activities to be supported. Therefore, your participation at this proposed consultation will be very important to help inform the two projects in their planning and implementation of specific areas of support for Vanuatu.

We look forward to your attendance and contribution to the planned discussions on the day.

Please find attached for you information a tentative agenda and two project briefs. The GIZ team in Vanuatu will follow up with your Office for confirmation of participation and any further clarification you may have.
